Training

As a result of the recent ‘Methamphetamine Scope’ undertaken by Matua Raki a range of trainings have been recommended to support the addiction sector to meet the needs of people who experience problematic methamphetamine (and other substance) use.  In 2011 Matua Raki will be running the following training:

  • Brief Cognitive Interventions (based on a 4 session intervention)
  • Contingency Management
  • Managed Withdrawal

These training sessions will also be made available online through Matua Raki Moodle (online learning site).

Matua Raki has already established a Pacific Education Intervention, with the support of the Matua Council, which is being used by a number of Pacific community groups -- especially in Auckland.  In 2011-2012 Matua Raki will be looking to roll out the adapted ‘Community Mental Health First Aid’ training to communities around the country.
