The Henry Rongomau Bennett Scholarship Programme is a tribute to Henry Rongomau Bennett's life and work in the mental health sector. The purpose of the scholarships are to support leadership development in Māori mental health, inclusive of competence in Te Ao Māori and excellence in mental health.Applications are open from August-November each year for kaimahi who work across the mental health and addictions sector. This includes; kaumātua and kuia; mental health workers; tangata whaiora advisors, advocates and representatives; child and adolescent mental health workers; mental health nurses; psychologists; recruitment of doctors into psychiatry; addiction practitioners, and others such as managers of mental health services.
